Towards European Integration

6 May 2011

The “Participatory European Integration” conference was jointly organised by AEPLAC and ICHD in Yerevan on 25 March 2011. The topic of the conference was the role of the Armenian government, parliament and civil society in the European integration process.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karine Kazinian, said that the Association Agreement between Armenia and the EU, for which negotiations have been ongoing since July 2010 will bring new prospects for political association and economic integration with the EU. Participants stressed that initiatives made by officials require the approval of civil society, which is why access to information and cooperation between state institutions and civil society are necessary.
