Presentation of Forest Legislation Guide

On 4 June 2012 a presentation on a Guide to Forest Legislation was organised at Yerevan State University. This unique Guide is designed for people working in legislative, executive and judicial systems, as well as organisations engaged in forestry, business and nature conservation. Lecturers and students of higher education institutions, as well as those interested in nature conservation, can also use it for general information and research.
The guide was prepared and published within the framework of the regional “Improving Forest Law Enforcement and Governance in the European Neighbourhood Policy East Countries and Russia (ENPI-FLEG)” project financed by the European Union and Austrian Development Cooperation.
The presentation was attended by representatives of WWF-Armenia, the Environmental Law Resource Centre, “Hayantar” SNCO (Statutory Nature Conservation Organisation), the Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia, environmental inspectors, NGOs, and journalists, as well as other stakeholders. The Guide elaboration process was presented by Aida Iskoyan, Head of the Environmental Public Advocacy Centre.
