EU-Armenia cooperation tightens

EU-Armenia cooperation tightens On 20 September the 12th meeting of the EU-Armenia Cooperation Committee was held in Yerevan.
The delegation representing the EU was chaired by Mr. Gunnar Wiegand, the Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia Regional Cooperation and the OSCE at the European External Action Service. The Armenian delegation was headed by the Armenian Minister of Economy, Tigran Davtyan.
EU-Armenia cooperation tightens Both sides indicated there had been solid progress within the context of EU-Armenia Association Agreement negotiations. Participants discussed the implementation of preconditions set for the start of the EU-Armenia Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) negotiations. The agenda included issues of mobility between Armenia and the EU, based on the adoption of negotiating directives by the European Commission for visa facilitation and readmission agreement negotiations. Human rights, the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Armenia-Turkey relations and EU assistance projects were also discussed.
