Jerzy Buzek in ArmeniaThe President of the European Parliament (EP), Jerzy Buzek visited Armenia on 18 May 2011. During a joint press conference with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, Buzek expressed optimism about the present level of cooperation between Armenia and the EU: “The citizens of Armenia and the EU are living in a common home – Europe. We believe that the best way to prosperity is democracy, the priority of human rights and a market economy.” Chairman Abrahamyan also noted that cooperation between Armenia and the EU had grown in recent years. He confirmed that European integration was one of the foreign policy priorities of Armenia.
